Heavy handling with diesel-electric drive
The RX 70-40 opens the heavier part of the RX 70 range. It is rated for 4,000 kg at a 500 mm load centre and powered by a 54 kW Deutz TCD 2.9 L4 engine feeding a diesel-electric transmission. Forks are 50 × 120 × 1,000 mm on a class III carriage. The standard telescopic mast lifts 3,180 mm from a lowered height of 2,400 mm, and triplex masts are listed up to 7,180 mm.
At 4,027 mm long, 1,380 mm wide and 2,320 mm to the overhead guard, with a 2,661 mm turning radius, it stays manageable for a truck of this class. Superelastic tyres, a 21 km/h top speed and a 56-litre fuel tank suit long days on outdoor sites. An LPG model, the RX 70-40 T, runs a Linde MH engine.
