Warranty Extension
Warranty Extension
The standard product warranty is 2 years or 2,000 hours. With a Warranty Extension contract you set that period, or that number of operating hours, to suit your own needs.
- Standard 2 years / 2,000 hours
- Extension by term or by hours
- Genuine parts
- Authorised service labour
- Predictable cost
The cost starts when the warranty ends
The first two years of a new truck usually pass without trouble, because that period is under warranty. The cost appears the moment the warranty ends — and it coincides with the period in which the truck works hardest.
Warranty Extension softens that transition. You extend the standard 2 years / 2,000 hours cover by term or by operating hours, as you need. Which of the two makes more sense for you depends on how hard the fleet is worked.
- Extension by term: For trucks that work little but will be kept for a long time.
- Extension by operating hours: For trucks that work hard and clock up hours quickly.
- Authorised service: Work within scope is carried out with genuine parts and authorised service labour.

What changes once the warranty ends
The same truck, the same use — the only thing that changes is who carries the cost.
- An unexpected drive or hydraulic failure produces a serious cost in one go.
- The decision to repair is put off over cost, and the problem grows.
- The service item in the annual budget cannot be forecast.
- When the truck is sold on, the warranty history cannot be documented.
- Fleet renewal is decided under pressure from faults rather than to a plan.
- Labour and parts costs for faults within scope are covered by the contract.
- With no concern about cost, repairs are carried out in good time.
- The service cost is set in advance by the contract fee.
- Warranty and service history are documented; resale value is protected.
- The fleet renewal schedule follows the plan, not the faults.
How the extension is set up
The extension is defined by term or by hours, according to the age of the truck and how hard it works.
Truck and Usage Details
Truck type, delivery date, current operating hours and working environment are taken.
Choosing the Type of Extension
Whether to extend by term or by operating hours is decided together.
Scope and Fee
The extension period or hours and the scope are agreed, and the contract fee is worked out.
Maintenance Condition
Cover continues only if scheduled maintenance is not neglected; the calendar is set up together.
Work Within Scope
During the extension, labour and parts for faults within scope are covered by the contract.
Standard warranty and extended warranty
The extension carries the scope of the standard warranty further, in term or in operating hours.
| Scope | Standard Warranty | Extended Warranty |
|---|---|---|
| Term | 2 years | The term you set |
| Operating hours | 2,000 hours | The hours you set |
| Manufacturing and assembly faults | ✓ | ✓ |
| Labour within scope | ✓ | ✓ |
| Genuine spare parts within scope | ✓ | ✓ |
| Authorised service intervention | ✓ | ✓ |
| Wear parts (tyres, brake pads, chains) | – | – |
| Damage from operator error and accidents | – | – |
| Scheduled maintenance carried out as required | Required | Required |
Wear parts, and damage caused by operator error or by accidents, fall outside warranty cover. If you want these items covered as well, a Full Service contract offers a better framework.
The team that gives the warranty is the team that honours it
When a fault arises under warranty, you do not have to look for someone to deal with it.
Authorised Service Partner
As a STILL Arser authorised service partner we carry out the work under warranty ourselves.
Genuine Parts
STILL genuine parts are used for replacements within scope.
Together With Maintenance
The scheduled maintenance the warranty requires runs on the same calendar, with the same team.
One Point of Contact
Sales, warranty, service and parts are run from one place.
Frequently asked questions about warranty extension
How long is the standard warranty?
The product warranty is 2 years or 2,000 hours, whichever is reached first. With a Warranty Extension contract you can carry that limit further, by term or by operating hours, as you need.
Can we take the extension later?
It is at its most advantageous before the standard warranty period expires. For trucks whose warranty has already run out we recommend Full Service or an extended maintenance contract instead; in that case the truck is first assessed technically.
What falls outside the scope?
Wear parts (such as tyres, brake pads and chains), and damage caused by operator error or by accidents, fall outside warranty cover. If you want these items covered as well, a Full Service contract offers a better framework.
Does the warranty lapse if we skip scheduled maintenance?
Cover continues only if the maintenance the manufacturer specifies has been carried out on time. That is why we set up the warranty extension contract together with the scheduled maintenance calendar; as long as maintenance is not neglected, cover is not an issue.
Does the warranty transfer if we sell the truck?
The remaining warranty period can usually be transferred with the truck. The transfer conditions are defined in the contract; it is enough to let us know before the sale.
Set the warranty period to match the way you work
Send us your truck details and annual operating hours; we will see together whether extending by term or by hours makes more sense.
