Periodic Inspection

Service · Statutory Periodic Inspection

Periodic Inspection

A periodic inspection examines, at set intervals, whether a piece of equipment works safely and performs the functions it is intended for. For lifting and conveying equipment it is a statutory requirement in Turkey.

  • Statutory requirement
  • At least once a year
  • Support with preparation
  • Non-conformities corrected
  • Documentation
The Legal Framework

Why it is compulsory

Under the Turkish regulation on health and safety requirements for the use of work equipment (İş Ekipmanlarının Kullanımında Sağlık ve Güvenlik Şartları Yönetmeliği), lifting and conveying equipment must undergo a periodic inspection at least once a year unless stated otherwise. Forklift trucks, pallet trucks, stackers and reach trucks fall within this scope.

The inspection is not only a matter of paperwork: safety-critical items such as brakes, mast, chains, forks and hydraulics are each assessed individually. In the event of an accident at work, whether the inspection was carried out and the non-conformities corrected is decisive for the employer.

  • Planning: Inspections are planned in the time window you choose, without disturbing production.
  • Preparation: We complete the preparatory work required before the inspection together with you.
  • Non-conformities: Any shortcomings found can be corrected by our own service team.

The Situation On Site

Where the inspection falls down

The obligation is known, but in most operations the tracking sits in one person’s memory.

What We Often Find
  • The inspection date is not tracked and is only noticed once it has passed.
  • The truck is not ready on the day, and the visit is wasted.
  • A non-conformity is found, but another company has to be called in to correct it.
  • The records are scattered and cannot be gathered together for an audit.
  • On rented and owned trucks it is not clear who is responsible.
Working With Us
  • The inspection calendar is set up with the maintenance calendar, and you are reminded when it is due.
  • A preparation checklist is shared before the inspection and completed together if needed.
  • If a non-conformity is found, our service team corrects it on the same visit.
  • Inspection records are archived truck by truck and can be provided together on request.
  • For rented trucks, responsibility for the inspection is defined explicitly in the contract.
How It Works

From planning to record

We treat the inspection not as a visit on its own but as part of the maintenance calendar.

Inventory and Calendar

The equipment within scope is listed and the inspection dates are tied to the calendar.

Preparation

The preparatory work needed before the inspection is shared and, if required, carried out together.

Carrying Out the Inspection

Critical items are assessed, including brakes, mast, chains, forks, hydraulics and safety equipment.

Correcting Non-conformities

Any shortcomings found are reported; our service team can take on the correction.

Records and Archive

Inspection records are archived truck by truck and can be presented together at an audit.

When you tie the periodic inspection to the scheduled maintenance calendar, the truck is serviced and inspected in a single visit.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about periodic inspection

How often do we have to have it done?

Under the Turkish regulation on health and safety requirements for the use of work equipment, lifting and conveying equipment must undergo a periodic inspection at least once a year unless stated otherwise. Where conditions of use are demanding, a shorter interval may be recommended.

Which equipment falls within scope?

Lifting and conveying equipment such as forklift trucks, pallet trucks, stackers, reach trucks and order pickers falls within scope. We can go through your fleet with you and draw up the list.

What happens if a non-conformity is found?

The shortcomings found are reported and have to be corrected. Our service team can take on the correction, so you do not have to call in another company or stop the truck a second time.

Are periodic inspection and scheduled maintenance the same thing?

No. Scheduled maintenance is a technical operation aimed at keeping the truck performing. The periodic inspection is a statutory examination that establishes whether the equipment works safely. The two can be tied to the same calendar, and in practice that is the most efficient way.

Who is responsible for the inspection on rented trucks?

On trucks you rent long term, we track the periodic inspection. On short-term rentals the truck is handed over with its inspection already carried out. Where owned and rented trucks sit in the same fleet, we work to a single calendar.
