Overhead Crane Area Safety
Overhead Crane Area Safety
Nobody under the load. AI-powered cameras scan the area beneath the crane; the system warns first and stops the crane if it has to.
- AI pedestrian detection
- Laser zoning
- Yellow and red zones
- Safety relay
Detect, delimit, intervene
BSD cameras mounted on the crane trolley scan the floor continuously using AI, while laser projectors draw the virtual warning and danger zones directly onto the floor.
In the yellow zone a siren and beacon give a warning; if a person is detected in the red zone, a safety relay stops the crane immediately.
- BSD cameras: they detect pedestrians and operators using AI.
- Laser projectors: they draw the yellow and red zones onto the floor.
- Siren, beacon and relay: staged warning and a safe stop.

The area under a crane carries risk you cannot see
Warning signs and training are not enough on their own: at the moment of an accident, human reflexes cannot stop the momentum of a load weighing tonnes.
- A pedestrian under the load: someone standing underneath is often noticed only once movement begins.
- A blind working area: the operator view is broken up by machinery, racking and loads.
- Intervention that comes too late: signs and training fall short at the moment of an accident.
- AI that detects everyone in the area in real time.
- Staged intervention matched to the level of risk: a warning first, a stop if needed.
- In the red zone the safety relay cuts crane movement immediately.
A two-stage warning: yellow zone and red zone
The yellow zone surrounding the red danger area warns first; if the risk reaches the red zone, the system brings the crane to a safe stop.
Yellow zone – warning
The AI detects the pedestrian instantly, the siren and beacon come on, and the crane can keep working.
Red zone – stop
If a person is detected in the red zone, the safety relay engages and cuts crane movement immediately.
Record
Every event is logged with a time stamp and reported.
Live monitoring and reporting
All cameras connect to central software, so zone status, events and records are followed from a single screen.

Live overhead view
Live camera view of the area under the crane.
AI detection boxes
People who are detected are marked on the image.
Zone status panels
The current state of the yellow and red zones.
Event log
Time-stamped records and full traceability.
Two stages in practice
A warning in the yellow zone, a stop in the red zone.

Protection wherever the load travels
Production Plants
Where loads of several tonnes are moved, it protects operators and pedestrians alike.
Warehouses and Logistics Centres
It watches floor traffic continuously along the crane route.
Multi-Shift Sites
The AI runs continuously, whatever the lighting conditions.
Heavy Foot Traffic
An extra safety layer where walkways cross the crane route.
Detect, warn, and stop if needed.
- Cameras on the crane trolley scan the floor using AI.
- Audible and visual warning in the yellow zone, an automatic stop in the red zone.
- All events are logged with a time stamp and reported.
